Book 1, Characters and Combat is the book that will most closely resemble its original Traveller counterpart.  The character generation and skills sections will feature career tables modified for the new setting, new or modified skills, and some new character generation rules, but will be immediately recognisable to the old school Traveller enthusiast.  The combat section will similarly be virtually identical, with the notable absence of futuristic weapons and armor, and the addition of rules for conducting combat underwater.
